FAQ’s for Parents

Welcome and Thank you for your interest in the Wodonga Little Athletics Centre

We aim to provide athletic events in a friendly and happy environment with an emphasis on parent participation, the skill development of children and individual personal best improvement by encouraging regular weekly participation and trying their best. Every athlete’s parents are an active part of this.

Wodonga Little Athletics is held at the Pat Parker Athletics Complex, 83 Victoria Cross Parade, Wodonga on Saturday mornings from 8:45am-Noon. Some age groups will finish earlier than this due to the number of events offered each week.

We also offer training practice sessions (weather permitting) on Wednesday afternoons throughout the season from 5:00pm-6:00pm.

Information Links (www.linktr.ee/wlac26):

The committee also sends out a newsletter frequently during the season to registered families to the email address that you use when registering your children. If you would like this email to be sent to both parents please advise the secondary email address so that we can add it to our system.

We have Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube socials, just search for Wodonga Little Athletics and you’ll find us.

Officiating Duties – Parent Participation:

Little Athletics is a sport that requires a large number of adults to run track and field events. All parents help to run Little Athletics at Wodonga. Parents collect a job card on arrival which provides instructions on what needs to be done.

There are many different jobs to be done and none are difficult. Our committee members are always on hand to help you with any questions about the job you will do on that day – arrive early to make sure you get your favourite one.

Due to insurance and affiliation requirements, children are not to be dropped and left at the centre unattended on Saturday mornings, or any other Little Athletics event. Any athletes at the Centre without a supervising adult present and helping with jobs are removed from participating in the competition for the day.

Cost:

Registration fees are $150 per athlete. The registration is for the summer and winter season, allowing your child to participate in Little Athletics activities and events for 11 months from October 01st – August 31st the following year.

Uniform:
Our Centre top (t-shirt, singlet or crop) is compulsory on a Saturday and can be purchased after registration via our online shop. We also have branded black shorts for sale, however, the uniform is any plain black shorts or tights. The centre tops are our approved competition tops that can be used for multiple seasons.

We have a merchandise shop where you can purchase Wodonga Little Athletics Centre supporter gear for all the family.  These items are not compulsory and available as an optional purchase.

We welcome any assistance, suggestions and ideas you may have so please do not hesitate to raise your hand, speak out and join in with us to make our Wodonga Little Athletics Centre one big happy family.

Please feel free to ask questions on Facebook Messenger, or send an email to the Secretary at wodonga@lavic.com.au
